My name is Raquel and I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher.
Reiki entered my life as, I imagine, a consequence of a life around spirituality and seek of
spiritual wisdom. I'm far from reaching the perfection, but as all humans, I'm looking for answers, so I keep asking questions. One of them is about healing ourselves. To talk about where this come from...
My father is a men who grew up in spiritual meetings, meditating, seeing lights where no one else would see them, and when I was a child he would teach me how to heat my palms and make my pain go away. My siblings and my mom would laugh at him because of this "jokes", since he's always been a funny guy. However for myself, I've always thought that was mysterious and at the same time amazingly interesting. I would listen to his infinite stories about extraterrestrial beings, guided meditations and real goals achieved through them with so much attention that it changed my way of seeing things.
I then was focused on having those same experiences he had and even go beyond. I read many books on spiritism (a doctrine very famous in Brazil), went to every meeting held by the people involved in those religions and grew up surrounded by it. When I moved to Canada, 3 years ago, my sensitivity towards energies and the spiritual world started to grow even more. I finally found Reiki, after having a strong urge to use my hands for something spiritual, energetic. I'd always heard about Reiki but wasn't so sure how it worked. I then did some research and found a great Master who initiated me into all levels of Reiki. I began to practice on myself, my husband, my friends and started to have clients.
I understood that Reiki was given to me through my intuition so strongly for a reason, a bigger reason: to help everyone discover their inner power to heal themselves. We can heal ourselves with energy because we are energy, we are made of it.
I am eternally grateful for this experience and for my father, for planting a seed when I was still a child watching him "play" with his hands on my body.
